Encyclopedia Britannica and SDX Interactive collaborated to develop a new and inventive way to produce
Britannica’s Illustrative Science Library. This series concept was designed around the implementation of
SDX technology, that features a stylus that interacts with the nearly invisible code printed on the page.
The technology opens new educational possibilities such as multiple choice quizzes throughout the series
as well as data collection to score the users results.
DESIGN PROBLEM: “Too academic”
SOLUTION: Considering the demographics, the design style for the new series will be modern,
youthful and hip.
